Originally from good old Leeds, the prolific NEW MASTERSOUNDS are celebrating 20 years in the business and to commemorate the event they’re all set to unleash a new long player – ‘Shake It’. As is the vogue, a first single’s just been released as a taster … a brassy, funky, punchy, feel-good love song ‘Kings And Queens’. On it the band are joined by vocalist Lamar Williams Jr who gives the tune just the right amount of old soul credibility… hints of the Average White Band too –hardly surprising AWB are the Mastersounds’ heroes!
