Brit band MAMAS GUN are currently very busy promoting their fine album, ‘Golden Days’. (See our reviews archive)….. But next Friday (May 18th) they’ll be releasing a new single from the set.
The chosen tune is ‘On The Wire’ – a broody, moody Southern soul flavoured builder that highlights the distinctive falsetto of band’s main man Andy Platts as he duels with some biting Ernie Isley style guitar.
Andy says of the song: “The lyrics to ‘On The Wire’ were written in the haze of media misinformation and heated debate in the weeks leading up to the so called ‘Brexit’ vote. It was a rally cry for people to think carefully, to make their decision rationally and not on the throw of some emotionally loaded dice fuelled by a misguided sense of patriotism.”
