JUAN LAYA & JORGE MONTIEL (the power behind LOS CHARLY’S ORCHESTRA) start their 2017 campaign with a spirited EP that cleverly combines the best of funk with a dash of disco. The EP (which comes in two vesrions) is named for the key tune ‘Funky Magnetic’ which evokes the sprint of Chic in its smooth n’ sweet rhythms. Totally dance floor friendly.
The mini album’s other big tune is ‘Got That Feeling’ which in its original incarnation is a bass heavy rumble of a tune that recalls the spirit of 80s weekenders. The track also comes in a deep disco tweak and offers full vocal and a dub mix.
Helping Juan and Andre to deliver is their old compatriot ANDRE ESPEUT who last worked with the boys on their ‘Sunshine’. As ever, he nails the vocal.
