Don’t know too much about Spanish (Madrid, to be precise) band MADJAZZ COLLECTIVE but right now they’ve have an intriguing, soulful/jazzy cut on offer on all the usual platforms. The tune is ‘Lift Me Up’ which is almost a throwback to the spiritual jazz of the 70s – though it’s maybe a little more accessible! Laconic vocal (in English), ethereal spoken word interval and tight instrumentation make for an intriguing cut. The Collective are currently working on a 6 track EP which we’re promised soon!
