TRIO VALORE are one the UK’s best-kept soul and jazz secrets. Made up of ex Style Council drummer Steve White, Ocean Colour Scene’s bassist Damon Minchella and Justin Shearn (Hammond) they debuted in 2008 with an album called ‘Return Of The Monkey’ and since then they’ve been touring regularly -packing theatres and clubs throughout the UK and Europe with their unique brand of soul-jazz with a mod flavour .
The threesome has just released a new EP called ‘#LiarsAndCheaters’. The title track is a heavy soul-jazz workout with Shearn’s Hammond groove bolstered by a big brass section. The cut though that is grabbing the attention of some of the best club and radio DJs is an atmospheric take on Gnarls Barkley’s ‘Crazy’. Easy to hear why it’s a winner….. insistent and hypnotic it embodies all the elements that made authentic 60’s soul-jazz so attractive.
