While we wait for the release of his upcoming album, ‘Accentuate the Positive’ (above), VAN MORRISON has released another single from the set – his version of the Little Richard classic ‘Lucille’.
On the new working, Van is joined by blues legend Taj Mahal. It’s the first time the duo have worked together since they collaborated on Morrison’s’ 2015 album. ‘Duets: Re-Working The Catalogue’.
‘Lucille’ is rock and roll staple and has been covered countless times but this new reading offers fresh perspectives and is one of many R&R covers on ‘Accentuate the Positive’. The R&R album is a logical follow on from Van’s last long player – the skiffle inspired, ‘Moving On Skiffle’.
Morrison will be playing two new album launch shows at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on November 27th and 28th – details from venue.
