Don’t know if you knew, but it was the ever-lovely SADE’S birthday last week. Say it quietly, she was 65 on the 16th January – so bus pass and OAP beckons!
Now we don’t know if it was meant to be a birthday tribute but just last week Detroit producer TALL BLACK GUY issued a rather special Sade mix. He took Ms. Adu’s 1992 track I Couldn’t Love You More’ and skillfully blended it with DONNY HATHAWAY’S 1972 opus ‘Love, Love, Love’. He calls the “new tune” ‘I Love, Luv You More’ and it has a hypnotic, ethereal feel – quite special. Mind you, you’d expect that from a mixing of two splendid tunes from two giants of our genre.
