Collectors of classy new vinyl and fans of THE MONOPHONICS might want to know that their label, good ‘ole COLEMINE, are lining up a new 7” on the Kelly Finnigan-led band. The 45 will pair ‘Love You Better’ with ‘The Shape of My Teardrops’ – both tunes, of course, from their acclaimed ‘Sage Motel’ album from 12 months ago.
If you don’t know the LP, then ‘Love You Better’ is a heavy groove (a blend of Curtis Mayfield and Southern soul) while ‘The Shape of My Teardrops’ is clearly influenced by the Delfonics – it’s a sweet, shifting ballad.
