DOME RECORDS continue their soul odyssey with the release this week of ‘SOUL LOUNGE 13’ (yep, that’s right, 13!). The collection is a 40 track 3 CD release and comes at a budget price, so for modest outlay you can enjoy classy soul from people like Shaun Escoffery, Tony Momrelle, Simon Law featuring Caron Wheeler, Jarrod Lawson, Avery Sunshine, Incognito, Beverley Knight and Down To The Bone.

Amongst the highlights are two ab fab live recordings. First up there’s Shaun Escoffery’s spine tingling version of ‘A House Is Not A Home’, recorded at a Royal Festival Hall Burt Bacharach tribute concert; then there’s the equally excellent Jarrod Lawson rendition of Lauryn Hill’s ‘Ex Factor’ which was recorded for Trevor Nelson’s BBC 1Xtra Live Lounge. If you’re not moved by both these cuts, you ain’t got soul!
