THE FUNKTASTICS are a US duo – Tauros and Barsheen. They peddle an infectious take on American soul and contemporary R&B. There is a French band with the same name – but that’s different kettle of drum n’ bass!
The American Funktastics are currently making Stateside waves with their summer anthem, ‘Where’s My Drink’ and, no surprise, the tune is being promoted in partnership with two US beverage companies.
Tauros and Barsheen wrote, produced, sang and played all the music on the song which comes on an EP with 5 mixes with each mix cleverly given a drinks theme title – e.g, Tik Tok Shots Mix! In truth, the tune will appeal more to the R&B crowd than the soul fraternity. It’s out now via 333 Musci LLC
