Aussie-born but UK-based singer/songwriter JOEL SARAKULA continues his regular release of singles with a new, blue-eyed soul-tinged, ‘King Of Spain’.
We’re told that the track is from Joel’s upcoming ‘Soft Focus’ album. Sonically, it delivers a light Latin vibe with a soulful undertow. In parts, it might remind you of Steely Dan, Boz Scaggs, Hall and Oates and/or their modern equivalent – Young Gun Silver Fox. Yes, it’s that sort of contemporary take on a 70s sound!
Joel refuses to say who the King of Spain refers to but he does say the song was inspired by his experiences touring Spain and some of the people he’s met along the way. Interesting!
