LONDON SOUL FEST…

Sunday July 8th sees the Music Connex organization host a special showcase soul show at London’s Adam Street Private Members Club. Headlining the show is WILDCOOKIE. The duo – FREDDIE CRUGER and ANTHONY MILLS – are known for the way they break down the boundaries between soul, jazz, hip-hop and funk. Expect them to perform all their underground club favourites including ‘Touchy Touchy’ and ‘Serious Drug’.

Main support act is rising US soul star KENDRA CASH. Hailing from Jacksonville, Florida and raised in the gospel tradition, KENDRA’S making her UK debut. The bill also features UK soul singer CHIDI who’ll be performing songs from her new and excellent ‘Exhale’ album (go to our reviews section for more details). The two remaining acts are CHARLENE and the RAY HAYDEN-led collective, OPAZ. Now featuring CARTIER FRAZIER, that team were, of course, behind MARTINE GIRAULT’S ‘Revival’ and have worked with people like MICA PARIS, RONNY JORDAN, SWING OUT SISTER and INCOGNITO.

This showcase for indie artists threatens to be a splendid night and with Early Bird tickets available at £5 it’s a bargain to boot! There are lots of other admission options including meal deals and CD offers and you can find out more @ www.musicconnex.co.uk
