JRU ANTHONY is a US soul man whose 2022 album, ‘Life For Now’ caused quite a buzz Stateside. The long player was a varied and mature affair for such a young artist (we believe that he’s just 19!) an if you missed out on the album, well the title track, ‘Life For Now’ has just been released as a single.
It’s smooth in a contemporary way and there’s a gentle funk back vibe delivering a message that’s about “being in a position where you know your partner doesn’t want you in their space anymore because of whatever reason, and not being able to do anything about it. You know they would rather be somewhere else, doing something else.” There you go! The single’s out now.
