If you’re a LITTLE RICHARD fan you might be interested to learn that some of his most flamboyant stage outfits are coming up for auction. Next month Los Angeles auction house Julien’s Auctions will be offering a treasure trove of items that belonged to Mr Penniman, who, of course, died in May aged 87.
We believe that one of the top items is a purple polyester vest adorned with sequins alongside matching bell bottoms… guide price $1,500 – $2.300! Original scores to some of his biggest hits are listed at a more moderate $300 – $400.
If though you have big bucks you might want to look at some non-Little Richard items in the sale – these include a Bob Marley guitar (@$76,000) and a white Fender Stratocaster that once belonged to Jimi Hendrix… a snip, starting @ $381,000. The sale, by the way, takes place on 1st and 2nd December. A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo!!!
