Back in March we brought you news of an excellent new album from everybody’s favourite soul jazz guitarist U-NAM…. ‘Future Love’. Well, Mr Emmanuel Abiteboul is a busy fellow ‘cos right now he’s putting the finishing touches to another new collection – ‘Call Me Saxy’ – a soul-jazz set on which our man collaborates with a team of lady saxophone players.
The first single from the album has just won release – a soul-heavy groove ‘Hear My Dear;’ which U-Nam says is his tribute to Marvin Gaye’s ‘Here My Dear’. Featured sax player on the cut is MAGADELENA CHOVANCOVA who has seven smooth jazz charting solo sets to her credit! On this Barry White-flavoured smoulderer, Ms C’s soulful sax duels artfully with U-Nam’s signature jazzy guitar chops… highly recommended and we look forward to the full album!
