Gospel trained Philly soulstress TANQUERAY HAYWARD has released several well received soul singles over  the last year alongside an acclaimed LP, ‘Definition Of A Woman’ and now she adds to her catalogue  with a new ballad, ‘You Lied’.

The cut has a distinct retro feel – something Whitney or Natalie Cole might have recorded back in the day and for some reason parts of the melody are annoyingly familiar (‘The Greatest Love’?).  Ms H builds the song to a gospel-inspired conclusion while an unnamed sax player weaves more retro magic towards the end. ‘You Lied’ is out now and  comes recommended.
