Avid soul label readers and sleeve scanners will know the name T GROOVE…. over the years, Yuki, the Japanese soul producer and mix mesiter has featured on countless classy modern soul dance tunes as mixer-in-chief.

In his homeland Yuki is considered the prince of soul producers and his status is such that Victor Entertainment is about to release a whole album of T Groove cuts. Now that label is no small, indie, self-financed or crowd funded set up; no, Victor is a Japanese major label –the equivalent of , say, Universal… that’s how big T Groove is in Japan!

The album is called ‘Get On The Floor’ – and that title couldn’t be more appropriate – the set is a 24 carat, full-blown call to the floor and will recall all those great 80s weekender days! Helping Mr Groove to deliver his soundscape is a fine team of sturdy soul vocalists like Jovan, LaDawn Monique and Alexis and Company who front the lovely ‘You’re The One’…. this is the one that really does sum of the sound that T Groove has mastered … shades of ‘Love Town’ and other great back in the day tunes! In many ways the T Groove sound is similar to the sound that Cool Million create so effortlessly (they have collaborated in the past, by the way). The sound is tight, danceable contemporary modern soul with a huge nod to the golden days of soul dance music.
