Fans of blue-eyed soul, indeed fans of just good music were delighted with last October’s YOUNG GUN SILVER FOX album, ‘Ticket To Shangri-La’. The duo (Mamas Gun front man Andy Platts, the “young gun” and eclectic performer/writer/producer Shawn Lee, the “silver fox”) offered a lovely, melodic, harmonic cocktail that kept delivering through a long, cold winter.
Amongst the key tracks was ‘Tip of the Flame’ – a light, insistent, funk workout which the boys now deliver in a fresh 12” disco mix. Tweaking the controls for the mix is Shawn Lee himslef who doesn’t do anything too drastic. He keeps the funky, chunky 70s guitar vibe and extends the mix by something like one and half minutes … keep on dancing!
