JASON HERD (aka Juan Kidd) is a veteran music maker whose soulful house tunes have graced labels like Defected, Subliminal Azuli, Toolroom, Moody and CR2. Gig-wise he’s played out at places like Global Gathering, Creamfields, Space Ibiza, Pacha Ibiza, Amnesia Ibiza, Space and Toolroom Knights. More recently he’s worked with a new, acclaimed dance collective from Manchester … 161 – (the city’s STD dialling code). So not much of a CV really!!!
Big J’s also the brains behind the Manchester based “Bohemian Disco” Festival, an offshoot of which is his newly launched label, BOHEMIAN DISCO. For the imprint’s first release, Jason’s come up with a real corker featuring a major, major house talent… a certain BARBARA TUCKER. You don’t need me to say too much about Babs save that’s she not called “The Queen of House” for nothing (or “nowt” as they say in the Rainy City!). She’s simply a force of nature who never fails to deliver.
Witness that delivery at its peak on this new collaboration with Mr Herd. Their collaborative effort is simply called ‘Head Up High’. So, you know right away it’s going to be a BIG tune , full of energy and optimism… and it is. It’s a proper disco stomper with Ms T is in top form delivering a high octane vocal that would strip paint!
The release package also features a remix from Harry Romero, who crafts a beaty dub. There’s also an alternative mix from Jason himself… it’s playfully called the Fat Arse dub! Now you know. For wimps there’s also a radio edit!
