Atlanta soul man JERMAINE ROBBINS impressed all and sundry with his last album, ‘The Journey Within’. We were so impressed in fact that the long player hit no.2 in the UK soul album charts. What was impressive was the quality of the songs and the classy vocals that most commentators compared with a certain Michael Jackson no less!
We last heard of young Jermaine 12 months ago when he dropped a bumpy, pleading ballad, ‘What You Want’ and he continues in ballad mode with his latest single ‘Lay It Down’… a pleading, big production that, yes, in places still has those MJ inflections… it’s out now.
