US news agencies are reporting the death at age 73 of jazz-fusion guitarist Larry Coryell. It seems that Coryell died in his sleep “of natural causes”, on Sunday 19th February.

Born in Galveston, Texas in 1943, Larry played with many jazz greats in his long career. More recently he was planning an extensive tour with The Eleventh House, a band he formed back in the 70s and regarded as pioneers of jazz-fusion.

Larry is survived by his wife, Tracey, four children and six grandchildren.
