It was just last year when we got to know the intriguing, eclectic artist PALE JAY. Always keen to keep his identity, origins and influences a secret, his music was by no means classic soul but it did have real soulful charm and bags of intrigue. His ‘Bewilderment’ album won him plenty of friends.
If you don’t know his music may we recommend you investigate his just-out new single, a gentle and lovely, blue-eyed soul, harmonic opus, ‘In Limbo’.
For this one PJ has teamed up with Colemine label mates, The Ironsides. You may know that the band hail from San Fransisco and include a coterie of players moonlighting from the Monophonics alongside brothers Max and Joe Ramney. For ‘In Limbo’ Pale Jay has sampled music from a track on the group’s album. Tune in question is the sweeping, cinematic ‘Ligurian Dream’ and, using it, Jay delivers an ethereal charmer. It’s hard to pin down but ‘In Limbo’ comes recommended and it’s out now!
