Looking for some cool, sophisticated soul with a touch of smooth jazz to ease you though the current hot spell? OK… can we point you to a gorgeous tune from US song bird KAT HAWLEY. Her offering is ‘Keep On, Keepin’ On’, a new song written by her husband, guitarist Adam Hawley. He envisaged the song as an ode to what keeps a relationship going – he and Kat have been together for 15 years, by the way. Mrs H suggested that a couple in a relationship need to keep on keeping on! And when it came to finding someone to record the vocals for Adam’s musical ideas, it was a no brainer for Kat to step up to the mic to make her solo debut (she’s previously done BVs on Adam’s LPs).
This ‘Keep On, Keepin’ On’ is a proper, lush affirmation of love which Kat delivers with bags of emotion while the sensuality quotient is ramped up by sax supremo Steve Cole’s mellifluous fills.
Ms Hawley says: “I wanted some serious vibes with this tune, and I think we got it. ‘Keep On, Keepin’ On’ is a burst of excitement for me. Feeling something in your soul, hearing things in your mind, streams of subconsciousness throughout your dreams to now being able to touch it is amazing,”
