Back in the 70s. KOKOMO won the hearts of the UK soul crowd with their particular brad of blue-eyed soul and funk and their second long player ‘Rise And Shine’ is revered amongst collectors.
In 2014 they reformed for a series of low key gigs then last year Kokomo were invited to join the “Soul Summit” with old partners the Average White Band as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival. The show sold out the Royal Festival Hall and both bands received standing ovations.
The band has just announced that they’ll be playing a very special gig at London’s Boisdale Club (Canary Wharf) on Friday 8th April. The show is part of media man Robert Elms’ Boisdale Soul Fridays.
