One of last year’s best indie soul sets was ‘My Own Skin’ from KENYA (JOHNSON) and one of the choicest cuts was ‘Makeusmile’ – a nifty little beater that featured input from soul man Brandon McKenzie.
As is the way with these things, that special track has just been remixed by Monsieur Tom Glide who’s savvy enough to retain all the soulful duet interplay. He does, though, crisp things up to make the tempo – though still sedate – perfect for the more sophisticated and veteran members of the modern soul crew.
