At the back end of last year, just in time for the Christas jollies we enjoyed a wonderful dance tune from Soulutions’ ever-wonderful LOUISE MEHAN. It was a pacey, bright, percussive, swirling ‘Distance’ on which Lou was joined by Detroit soulstress KATHY KOSINS!
It was a great combo and Soulutions’ main man Steve Lee garnished the cut with all the usual SouLutions Philly-inspired trademark sounds.
Proving that you can never get enough of a good thing, ‘Distance’ is back with us in a brand new mix – the “DetroitCentriX Reimagination”. By now you’ll know that DetroitCentriX is a new(ish) US collective fronted by Kathy and fellow Detroiter, singer, songwriter, producer, and bassist PAUL RANDOLPH.
This new tweak retains all the loveliness of the original but makes it a little tougher, a little tighter, a little more urgent, a little funkier, a little more “American” if you know what I mean. Good to go now!
