KEEP SMILIN’…

It’s been a tough few years for blue-eyed soul star JOHN OATES. He’s been involved in a sometimes bitter legal dispute with his long term music partner Daryl Hall but John’s determined to move forward, saying :  “I’m really proud of what Daryl and I created together. I think we made music that will stand the test of time. I don’t like living in the past…I have moved on. It’s just a matter of living in my present.”

To that end he’s been making  his own solo records and has just released his latest single – ‘Get Your Smile On’. The cut is a smooth take on sophisticated soul and proves that Mr O can,, for sure, cut it on his own.

He says: “This was yet another song that I wrote during the pandemic. When I was trying my best to search for any positive vibe I could come up with. I began to write using GarageBand on my Mac. It…began to come together so well, I decided to really produce the track the way I would have in a professional, recording studio. I played all the instruments, programmed the keyboards and sang all the vocals as well. This is the first time I’m releasing a pure GarageBand production. I’m happy the way it came out and I hope it puts a smile on your face when you hear it.”

It’s a  good song to go into the New Year with and there’s more good news – all proceeds from the single will be going to Teen Cancer America. Keep smiling!
