UK soul stylist supreme CHRIS BALLIN made a “comeback” of sorts earlier this year with the lovely single, ‘Beautiful’. A sweet mid-tempo groove, it won plenty of plays. It was followed by the equally beguiling ‘Shining’.
A little more up-tempo, ‘Shining’ was properly optimistic and optimism is the watch word on Mr. B’s new single – a tight 80’s old school flavoured, ‘Keep On Grooving’. Chris wrote and co-produced the track and he says: “this new composition encapsulates everything I’ve learned since my journey began”.
The message in the music can’t be faulted – “peace, love and harmony – all these things will set you free!” and Chris delivers with a soulful awareness that betrays his years at the top of the UK soul world.
Yep, 2023’s been a good year for CB – and with an album planned for next year, his upward and onward trajectory is bound to continue!
