JOE TATTON is the keyboardist with the New Mastersounds – a long -standing Leeds based soul and funk outfit. He’s also played with the Haggis Horns and records in his own right with his eponymous “Trio”.
The Joe Tatton Trio’s latest single offering is a tasty double A sider… ‘Stomp’/’Timeline’ .
‘Stomp’ is a jaunty instrumental with delicate keys, jazzy flute and a ponderous, stomping beat (you could have guessed that!). ‘Timeline’ is different again… sparkling piano (in the style of say, Ramsey Lewis) but a laid back, laconic vocal in the manner of Mose Allison – one of Tatton’s heroes, we’re told.
