KERBSIDE COLLECTION is an Aussie soul and funk band who treated us to the single ‘Glaze’ in December. The tune was/is gritty, jazzy, funky and loose… a touch of the Mizell boys about it.
We were told that ‘Glaze’ flagged up a new album ‘Round The Corner’. Still no date given for the release (maybe it’s “round the corner”!!!) but the Kerbsiders have just released the title track and this ‘Round The Corner’ is a tad smoother than ‘Glaze’ but it still flies as it builds momentum. Catchy too! It might still remind you of people like the Mizells, even 4Hero… maybe even Herbie Hancock in his jazz-fusion days!
We’re told that the track “refers to some of the ‘unknowns’ and ‘uncertainties’ around the corner post cv-19, it’s also an uplifting groove affirmation looking forward to the positive things, and seasons to come round these kinds of unknown corners, and the incoming new year. “
