We know you can’t keep a good tune down and to prove the adage yet again, you need to checkout a new version of the Gap Band’s ‘Outstanding’. This new treatment comes from Italy’s PAPIK (with his SOUL TREND ORCHESTRA).
The original ‘Outstanding’ was released back in 1982 and since then we’ve enjoyed Kenny Thomas’ wonderful version and more recently a cover of it from a revamped Fat Larry’s Band. This new Papik version doesn’t stray too far from any of those versions. The vocal from Alan Scaffardi is gritty and convincing and there’s a wild sax solo; we believe that this new ‘Outstanding’ is out now!
