Despite his age (he’s 76) guitar legend CARLOS SANTANA’S still going strong and has just released a new single… ‘Let The Guitar Play’. His many fans may recognize the melody as ‘Let The Guitar Play’ is a re-working of his 2021 tyune ‘Song for Cindy’.
For this new look at the tune, Mr. S has teamed up with our old pal, producer Narada Michael Walden and remixer Lino Nicolosi. Between them they create something quite new, and they give you three different perspectives. There’s what is dubbed the “70s” mix – an instrumental, a “soul” mix which features Run DMC’s Darryl McDaniels (so not classic soul, more gentle hip-hop) and a “radio” version which combines elements of the other two into a five minute guitar masterclass.
Santana says: “Now, more than ever, it is essential that we heal life, people, and the planet. This music is assigned and designed to touch your heart, take you out of your misery, and to remind you that you are significant, meaningful, and can make a difference in the world. It is a joy to collaborate with brother Darryl ‘DMC’ McDaniels, producers Narada Michael Walden and Lino Nicolosi, Cindy Blackman Santana, and with our partners at Candid. Our collective vision is to heal and to bring light and peace. Please join us!”
‘Let The Guitar Play’ is out now via Candid Records.
