JUST FOR YOU!

Cult Californian soul band THEE SINSEERS are busy preparing a new album, ‘Sinseerly Yours’, due march next year. While we wait with eagerness the band have released an intriguing, non-album single. It’s a beautiful Low Rider ballad, ‘For You’.

The track has an interesting pedigree. The song first surfaced in 2021 on a single credited solely to the Sinseers’ front man, Joey Quinones. That version of ‘For You’ was a charming, beguiling slice of Lovers Rock – really lovely. Now with a full compliment of Sinseers, Joey has reimagined the song into a sweet and lovely, old school harmony soul ballad… just as lovely as that original reggae version. Yes, the arrangement and production owe something to the Young Rascals classic ‘Groovin’’  but that’s no bad thing. This one’s achingly beautiful and  just a lovely piece of work – a perfect aural definition of the SoCal, Low Rider sound. Recommended and out now  via Colemine!
