Soulful house trio, MONTANA, STEWART & NORTIER enjoyed a huge dance floor hit at the back end of 2015 with the uplifting ‘The World To Me (You Are)’, which featured a typically soulful vocal from Stephanie Cooke.

Now the threesome continues upwards and onwards with the follow up, ‘Never Thought’. This time the beat masters have drafted in Baltimore soul diva Dana Weaver to give the cut a proper, soul slant.

The original mix is soulful house as it should be…. strings, jazzy keys and a bouncing bass line but it’s Ms Weaver’s vocal that does it. I know it sounds odd but it comes on like a cross between dear old Lisa Stansfiled and not so dear Grace Jones… yes that does sound odd!

If you want more there are (as usual) lots of different mixes. The Nikos Diamantopoulos mix adds electronic shadings; Gigi Frassanito (“Soulbridge”) adds booming beats; James Crocker and Andy Jackson (“JFunc”) speed up things a tad; while George Tsalikee’s mix is the edgiest. Call us old fashioned and conservative but we prefer the original!

The tune and all the mixes are released on the wonderfully named Wiggly Worm Records and will be available via Traxsource from April 14th and from the usual platforms from 28th April.
