JUN MHUN DIES…

Various sources (without any specific details) are reporting the recent death of entertainment polymath JUN MHUN (aka Wilbur Mhoon). He was a musician (drummer), media manager and TV and music producer.

He worked  for Warner Bros Records, RCA, A&M and ran his own label, I AM. From our perspective, he’ll be best remembered for his work in the 60s and 70s. He was the drummer in the Staples Singers road band and played with Thad Jones, Jessy Dixon, the Bee Gees, the Doors, Paul Simon, and the Count Basie Orchestra. In the early 70s he was staff drummer at Brunswick Records and Chess Records playing on tracks by The Chi-Lites, Gene Chandler, Jackie Wilson, Jackie Ross and many others.
