November sees a remarkable release on JOHNNY MATHIS. The sweet-voiced crooner spent almost 60 years pacted with Columbia Records save for a four year stay at Mercury which released the music he recorded for his own Global Production Company. Now, Mathis’ entire output for Global/Mercury is set to be re-released in a de-luxe box set. The package (designed like a clam shell) will include 13 CDs and will be available on Columbia/Legacy.
The set contains all ten original Global/Mercury albums. The three other CDs in the pack feature a lost album of Broadway tunes and 2 CDs worth of non-album singles and unreleased material.
