US soul man JOE BLUNT died on Tuesday 26th March. Few details are available save that he died at his home in Temple Hills, Maryland. He was aged 74.

Joe will be best remembered for his work with the Drifters. The legendary group has had dozens and dozens of members and Joe sang with them between 1975 and 1985 – a period when Ben E King made a return and when the line up also featured Johnny Moore.

Joe Blunt began his music career with Washington group, the Chancellors before moving to join True Reflection (Glenn Leonard, a sometime member of the Temptations was also a member). After leaving the Drifters in ’85 Blunt  pursued a solo career and then joined up with Leonard and Joe Coleman in Leonard, Coleman and Blunt. In 2017 their single ‘My Time To Shine’ was well received.
