It’s just been announced that larger than life soul diva, JOCELYN BROWN will headline Scotland’s newest festival – SSW3, in Dumfries which takes place between Friday November 1st and Sunday November 3rd 2013.
JOCELYN’S been a fave since her colossal ‘Somebody Else’s’ Guy’ three whole decades ago and since then she’s graced anthems from people like TODD TERRY and NU YORICAN SOUL and worked with the likes of CHIC, MASTERS at WORK and the mighty SALSOUL ORCHESTRA.
The grand “old lady” of soul will be joined at SSW3 by OLIVER CHEATHAM of ‘Get Down Saturday Night’ fame and the whole event takes place at The Cairndale Hotel in down town Dumfries… known as one of the country’s friendliest venues. The brains behind the show is DJ YOGI HAUGHTON, doyen of numerous Southport and Prestatyn weekenders and he’s lined up some top names (DJ SPINNA amongst them) to spin the discs in the venue’s various rooms. The festival will also boast a rare record and merchandise fair in the heart of the weekender venue with stalls selling weekender T-shirts and elusive vinyl.
Rounding things off after Sunday November 3rd’s afternoon Finale is the SSW3 After Party in The Shrine Room from 10.30pm until 4.30am and beyond, hosted by some very special guests to be announced shortly. Entry for that is £10 in advance with tickets available at the Cairndale Hotel reception or £15 on the door, and weekender goers can also book an extra night’s accommodation at a 50% reduction rate for Sunday night.
