Though his name’s not that familiar, JASON MORALES is something of a US music biz veteran. Aged just 14 he was part of the boy band Youth Asylum who were signed to Quincy Jones’ Qwest Records whilst out on his own he was a Showtime at the Apollo winner! Jason’s also worked and toured with people like Rod Temperton, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Ricky Minor Band, Michael Bublé, Lalah Hathaway, Rahsaan Patterson, Rachelle Ferrell, David Foster, Childish Gambino, Justin Bieber, John Legend and Kenny Latimore so little wonder that US soul tastemakers are picking up on his new single, a clever cover of Barry White’s ‘Can’t Get Enough Of Your Love Baby’.
Like all the best covers of classics, this one doesn’t set out to repeat the familiar. Rather, Jason and his team create something quite different. It begins in gentle and laid back fashion then builds and builds to an almost gospel-eqsue climax. It’s intriguing and interesting. Jason says: “I always heard this song in a different way.
