Highly-respected UK pianist Janette Mason boasts an impressive CV. She’s toured with Seal, k.d. lang and Oasis; worked on albums with noted jazz singers (she produced Lea DeLaria’s ‘The Live Smoke Sessions’ and arranged Ian Shaw’s ‘Drawn To All Things’); and composed music scores for TV (Sex & The City) and movies (Ruby Blue). She’s also released four jazz albums under own name, the last being ‘Red Alert,’ released in May 2018.
‘Red Alert’, which drew favorable comparisons with the groundbreaking contemporary jazz trios e.s.t. and The Bad Plus, is now being pressed up on vinyl by Dot Time Records to coincide with the appearance of Janette’s trio – also called Red Alert, with bassist Tom Mason and drummer Chris Morris – at the upcoming London Jazz Festival.
