Acclaimed British pianist Janette Mason follows up her recent single ‘Starman’ by issuing on February 19th 2021 another track from her forthcoming ‘Wall To Wall Bowie’ EP. It’s a unique interpretation of David Bowie’s iconic 1973 hit, ‘The Jean Genie,’ which is transformed into a chunk of edgy, super-charged, jazz-flecked, funk-rock fronted by the magnetic vocals of David McAlmont. Mason plays electric piano, serving up a mesmeric groove together with guitarist Rob Harris, bassist Yolanda Charles and drummer Andrew Small while siren-voiced backing singer Sam Obernik joins McAlmont on the anthemic chorus.
