Last month the REEL PEOPLE people celebrated Prince’s birthday (June 7th) by releasing a homage of sorts – ‘Purple Funk’, from Mothers Favourite Child with vocals from Saeeda Wright.
Reel People are all set to continue their liaison with Mothers Favourite Child (aka Paris Toon) with the early August release of ‘Tonight’ – a tight, percussive, soulful dancer that features Robin Stone (aka Robin S) on vocals. Robin is , of course, a much respected soul and soulful house singer and here she wrings plenty of emotion out of the lyric.
The mix is down to our old pal Opolopo who illuminates the track with plenty of his trademark flourishes… bouncing bass line, a touch of broken beats and harmonic fills. Very effective.
