The first release of 2017 from ERROL HENRY’S SOUND PRINCIPLE is a rousing, soul-filled revisit to his wonderful gospel song ‘Because You Love Me’. Many fondly remember the smouldering version from Shirley Jones, but for the new tweak, Mr H turns up the beats and hands the vocals to a great new talent – Miami born, Atlanta based, Phillippia Williams.

Though Phillippia may be new to us, she’s no novice and has performed all over the United States for more than 2 decades and has shared stages with stars like Jill Scottand K-Ci& Jo Jo. Errol Henry explains show he found her: “I was sent a demo of Phillippia by my A&R guy in the States and I could not believe that someone so clearly talented had not already been signed. We immediately got Phillippa on the phone and sorted her deal there and then. Her vocals for ‘Because You Love Me’ were completed a few days later and I am highly delighted with the end-result. I see it as a privilege to be able to provide a platform via The Sound Principle for singers to showcase their abilities. The guys I work with are all seasoned players and know how to create a musical environment that is perfectly suited to the vocalist we are working with at any given moment. The melodic structure of ‘Because You Love Me’ suited Phillppia perfectly and she brought her own distinct flavour to the table and did an awesome job.” … And “awesome” is an adjective we won’t argue with when we come to describe the soul power of ‘Because You Love Me’.
