IT’S GOOD TO BE BACK…

Brit soul man ANDRE ESPEUT is a busy little bee! Fresh from his own ‘Journey’ outing, his work with the Beat Rivals and, of course, his stints with the Los Charlys gang, he’s now teamed up with 7 piece Newcastle based Jazz-Funk powerhouse band, KING BEE (see what we did there!)

King Bee were established in 2011 by Dave Wilde and Chris Jelly. And they hit the ground running supporting legends like  Roy Ayers and Lonnie Liston Smith. Their 2014 debut album ‘King Bee’, was a critical success and their 2016 debut 7′′ single ‘Money Gone’ topped Juno’s ‘Bestselling Vinyl Funk’ Chart. Our old pal, Craig Charles added it to his ‘Best Funk Bangers’ on BBC 6Music, while their ‘Bee To The Flower’ single was championed by Robbie Vincent.

We’re guessing that both Craig and Robbie will immediately espouse the band’s new, Andre Espeut vocalised single, ‘Good To be Back’. It’s a powerful, brassy jazz funk workout that has elements of Tower of Power’s best work about it. The three horn players punch well above their weight, there’s funky guitar licks a-plenty, pounding bass grooves and exquisite vibraphone; topping it off, Mr E delivers a convincing vocal

‘Good To Be Back’ will be released on July 31st 2023 on Ramrock Red Records.
