The Golden Rules label’s upcoming ‘The Originals 3’ album keeps delivering quality singles. You’ll remember the last one – a lovely throwback tune, ‘Better Woman’ from Cole Williams.
The latest single to be lifted from the long player features Aussie soul/funk/jazz combo COOKIN’ ON THREE BURNERS with ‘Wind Up’. The trio are best known in the mainstream for their wonderful ‘This Girl’. That one was sweet and soulful and in the Kungs’ 2016 remix it became a worldwide smash. The soul and funk crowd know though that that cut, lovely as it was, was not typical of the Burners’ sound. ‘Wind Up’ on the other hand truly is. It’s hard hitting funk with a strong soul-jazz Hammond lead and it’s out now via Golden Rules.
