THE WHISPERS are one of soul’s all time top groups. They’ve delivered quality, sophisticated music since their inception in the late 60s and it’s so good to know that the band are still going strong.
Right now the “boys” – Walter and Scotty Scott and Leaveil Degree – are preparing a new album, due very soon and from that set they’ve just released a lovely new track – their version of Al Johnson’s ‘It’s Been Too Long’. The cut has all the hallmarks of classic Whispers recordings – sweet melody, sophisticated production, unique, recognizable “Whispers” lead vocals and on point harmonies. Produced by Magic Mendes, it is , indeed “proper grown up soul music”.
Great to have the Whispers back and yes, it has been too long. Looking forward to that album!
