We’ve been following the progress of US soul and jazz songbird, LORI WILLIAMS for a few years now. Not that well-known outside of her homeland, she’s built up small but devoted European fan base made up of those who enjoy sophisticated , grown-up soul music with a smooth jazz feel. Little wonder that Ms W is first choice amongst many of the US smooth jazz community when they’re looking for a vocalist to work with.
For her latest release Lori has teamed up with another acclaimed smooth jazzer, Chris ‘Big Dog’ Davis. He’s the co-writer of her new single, ‘Too Late (It’s My Time)’ and it’s a quality outing – smooth but never bland and like much of Lori’s work there’s a feel of Anita Baker about it.
