Wow! The Teddy Pendergrass covers/tributes are coming thick and fast. Just last week, Teddy Douglas and Richard Burton released their incendiary version of Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes’ ‘Don’t Leave Me This Way’ while a couple of weeks previously, Philly flag fliers THE LEGENDARY BLUENOTES released their take on ‘You Know How To Make Me Feel So Good’ – aided and abetted by Philly veteran JEAN CARNE.
Now that same combination hit us with a new version of Teddy P’s masterpiece ‘Is It Still Good To Ya’. The fact that it’s a duet makes this version a little different but the jury’s still out as to whether this new reading matches the chest-beating passion and fierce intensity of the Teddy original.
