CYNTHIA THIJS COENRAAD is an Indonesian born singer-songwriter. Her name, by the way, is pronounced Cynthia “Tize” “Coon-rowd” and she specialises in creating a unique music that blends pop, jazz, Brazilian/Latin music, along with soul and sassy big band swing. To date she’ s worked with people like Paul Jackson, Jr., Tom Braxton, Randy Brecker, Allen Hinds, Richard Smith, Chieli Minucci, Dean Brown and the Snarky Puppy horn section!
And it’s the Snarky horns that feature on Cynthia’s latest releases – an uplifting, gear-changing ‘Is It Me’. The song starts gently with just a touch of the Astrud Gilberto’s about it before taking off as the horns take full flight intertwining with some complex flute fills from Ronald Snijders. As we said it’s a unique sound and good to go now via all the usual stores and streaming platforms !
