STREETS MADE INNOVATORS (SMI) are a UK production duo composed of Leon Vandol and James ‘Carnage’ Carn. The pair are from London and were formed in 2012 after being introduced by a mutual friend.
Carn is a respected session guitarist while Vandol specialises in crafting beats. They discovered a shared love of all things soulful, jazzy and funky and so SMI was born. They’re about to launch their debut EP, ‘Machine’ and from it the single ‘Morning Light’ is already turning heads. It’s a rough and bumpy contemporary soul vibe with a tough edged vocal from Rotimo
